Joy as resistance and fashion as visibility and refusal are all extremely powerful. Thank you for this Angela ❤️

“visibility” “joy as resistance” and “armor.” I didn’t even know I needed these wardrobe categories until now. I think I often land in armor or joy as resistance camps in my attitude and outfit. Thank you for using your voice for this.

Thank you for reading, Kelly ❤️ I love me a badass leather piece as armor and of course, I can’t resist a fringe number for joy 🥰

Here in Norway we are looking in disbelief and horror at what is happening in your country. Here politicians have to leave office when they have broken the law. Your criminal politicians become president. People attack public buildings and there are no consequences. Tariffs are introduced because your leaders don’t understand the difference between a trade deficit and a tariff. Cities with a democratic leadership are targeted by the republican president. A billionaire is put in charge of streamlining public services, chops everything relating to protecting the environment and does a nazi salute. Political opponents are treated like criminals and basic human rights are removed for women and LGBTQ. At some point we looked up to the USA. Now we are watching your country implode and male greed taking over.

Thank you for reading, Anett. Everything you said is true. It’s still hard to believe that this is America today and we have to continue living our lives as if everything is normal.

Yes. And yes and yes and yes. It’s horrifying to live here.

I totally understand. ❤️ I get so stressed out and worried when I watch the news that I prefer to not watch them. My husband updates me when something particularly shocking happens… 🙊 😂

Thank you for talking about it when very few do. I felt I have been walking on egg shells since January and every day things feel so intense. I 100% agree that during these times we can't be robbed of joy and leaning into things like getting dressed to participate in a form of resistance.

I’ve felt the same way since the inauguration. And I’m also surprised that very few openly talk about it on the fashion side of this platform. Perhaps some people are scared to lose subscribers? That should be the least of their worries at a time like this.

Thank you for the love ❤️ I am fascinated by fashion psychology too (and history)! It goes so much deeper than just the clothes we wear.

Angela this was so powerful. Joy as resistance really resonated. Allowing ourselves to feel the bad & ugly, but also intentionally feel joy.
