Hey friends! Welcome to The Group Chat, a monthly roundup of things on my radar—from new brand discoveries and emerging trends to beauty game-changers and home decor gems. Think of it as VIP access to my current hyper-fixations and finds I would typically send to the group text—you get the vibe. Let’s get into it!
Fashion
I’m loving these easy breezy linen dresses from Esya the Label—a small batch, slow fashion label based in Columbus, Ohio.
Everyone needs a fun summer skirt—bonus points for interesting details! I styled mine with my favorite white shirt (a true wardrobe MVP), pre-loved Jil Sander butter yellow mules and a vintage Ralph Lauren men’s tuxedo (an antique store find!) for a broadway show. I got so many compliments IRL and online.
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect red shirt since The Row dropped this. I got lucky on my first try with this lightweight oxford—a true red and versatile fabric that works year round. There are only a few sizes left, but here are some great alts—this is a solid option, and so is this.
Someday I want to be the kind of person who owns a collection of bespoke shirts in their wardrobe. Chava Studio, a Mexico city based label, is my newest brand obsession. They’re known for their handcrafted, made-to-order pieces designed and developed in partnership with Gilly e Hijos, a 30-year old family-run fabric and shirting studio. They also offer ready-to-wear options if you want instant gratification. A classic light blue oxford caught my eye and so did this stunning infinity collar shirt—I’m in love with the exaggerated cuffs.
This summer’s hottest accessory is a statement necklace! I’m not talking about that J.Crew bubble necklace circa 2009 (IYKYK). Summer 2024’s version has everything, from interesting shells + pearls and unique charm necklaces to dainty beads and bold pendants on cord. I’m loving the pieces from the Chan Luu x Moda Operandi collab, as well as Heaven Mayhem’s latest drop. Resident style queen, Monikh Dale, also launched her new collab with Daphine. This beautiful jasper stone pendant caught my eye. Other brands I’m also loving include this, this and this.
Beauty
The ultimate scent of the summer smells like a sun-drenched, languid Mediterranean holiday (prickly pear, bergamot, jasmine and iris to be specific). This delightful scent is available only during the summer months. For this year's edition, tastemaker and French contemporary artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet has created a bespoke illustration adorning both the flacon and its packaging.
Eadem has generously gifted me their new lip balm, Le ChouChou. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and can confidently say that it’s worth the hype! The formula is an intensive lip treatment that gently exfoliates while providing deep hydration and a glossy but non-sticky finish. I’m loving the shades Bissap Glaze and Fig Sauce during the day and have been wearing Butter Mochi (clear) every night before bed. I’m happy to report that I haven’t had any lip dryness or flaking since I started using Le ChouChou!
Air-dried hair is my go-to every time summer comes around. I’ve been loving this for effortless texture and waves. Back in May, my hair stylist at Spoke & Weal introduced me to ROZ hair—she used this styling oil on my bob which made me instantly perk up with excitement. Their hair milk is also divine—it gives the best air dry finish in my opinion (a few friends can attest to this as well). I’m also loving this for extra volume at the roots. I tried a sample of their shampoo and conditioner this past weekend and it’s safe to say I’m officially hooked!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Diamond’s Metacine all over my feed and am dying to try! The consensus has been pretty consistent among the lucky ones who were gifted these products—basically botox in a bottle.
A new Korean medspa just opened in SF and I couldn’t be more excited! Their treatment menu looks promising. A flat rate of $149 for The Upkeeper, a top of the line Korean hydrofacial with custom add-ons seems like a great deal—I was lucky enough to snag an appointment in August, so stay tuned for a review!
Home
To no one’s surprise, Khaite’s home collection is as chic as their clothing line. The 8-piece porcelain tableware capsule was developed with Ginori 1735, an iconic Florentine Maison.
A recent discovery I made through TikTok, Goobs ceramics, crafts the coolest tableware pieces. I’m eyeing their quirky snack plate, oyster plate and mignonette dish. They do limited drops for pre-order—any of their pieces would make such a great hostess or housewarming gift.
Gohar World and Lazy Jamie are two other tableware brands I’ve been obsessing over. Both offer unique vintage-inspired pieces that can elevate and infuse some personality to tablescapes. I’m loving this extra fancy lemon squeezer, spiral cheese knife set and mother of pearl spoon set.
Last week, I checked out The New Bar, a non-alcoholic shop in Cow Hollow. As someone who wants to be more mindful about drinking these days (hangovers in your 30s are truly the worst), I’ve been wanting to learn more about the range of non-alc brands and offerings in the market. I walked away with my handpicked 6-pack assortment (including Ghia, DeSoi, Kin), which is a really convenient way to try a bunch of stuff without full commitment. I’ll report back on my findings soon!
