Outfit Diary: CDMX
mostly what I wore but also where I ate and shopped. plus a few travel tips, my top recs, and the guides I perused.
Mexico City has been sitting at the top of my list for quite some time, so I was over the moon when a wedding invitation serendipitously landed in my inbox. Not that I needed a real excuse to go, but don’t you just love those moments when the stars align — the thing you’ve been plotting in your head for so long manifests into sweet fruition. I think it’s safe to say, my newfound love affair with CDMX has just begun…
Highlights: what I wore + where I ate
We kicked off the trip on a high note (literally and figuratively) by hitting up Pujol the night we arrived. Fun fact: Mexico City is ~7,000 ft above sea level (higher than Lake Tahoe!) If you’re sensitive to altitude changes like I am, be mindful of your alcohol intake and stay hydrated.
Dinner at Pujol was the perfect occasion to sport a sheer ensemble I’d put a pin in a while ago — a Theory dress I repurposed as a skirt, layered with a cozy pullover from Frank & Eileen*.
Freda Salvador* sent me one of their new belts just in time for the trip. It perfectly cinched my sweater in place and added a nice edge. My trusty accessory lineup — vintage Gucci heels, Savette pochette, and Agmes cuff + Dorsey earrings— never fails to deliver a subtle yet impactful statement to any outfit. My PSA for today: Fashion ‘rules’ are meant to be broken — black + navy and gold + silver are A++ combos in my book.

The next day I had my long-awaited appointment at Chava Studio. We grabbed coffee and pastries at Panaderia Rosetta, made a pitstop at Zii Ropa to check out their beautiful linen pieces, then onto
’s studio in Miguel Hidalgo.A little insider tip for you: it’s just a stone’s throw from the iconic Casa Luis Barragan. If you’re planning to visit (which you absolutely should), make sure to snag those tickets well in advance. They sell out faster than a 260 sample sale, I swear.
And for my pro travel hack: time your visit right, and you can hit up both Chava and Barragan in one go. It’s the perfect duo of local CDMX fashion and architectural history. Just make sure to plan ahead — your future self will thank you for the seamless itinerary!
I’ve been eagerly anticipating the day I could pick up the bespoke shirt I’d ordered from The Love List pop-in event last month, and I can confirm it was worth every moment of the wait. The shirt, to put it simply, is perfection. The cotton twill fabric feels incredibly luxurious against the skin, and the mother-of-pearl buttons add just the right touch of elegance. The best part is the impeccable fit and drape — truly the perfect oversized shirt of my dreams.
Obviously, I was instantly obsessed that I couldn’t resist wearing it out of the studio. In fact, this shirt quickly became the star of my wardrobe for the rest of the trip, outshining the tees and sweaters I’d originally packed for daytime wear.
I couldn’t help but fall for a couple more pieces at the studio — a chic cropped oxford and a stunning tuxedo shirt with the most elegant French cuffs I’ve ever seen.
