Outfit Diary: A New York Minute

what I planned on wearing vs what I actually wore, plus a mini recap.

NYFW: 1, Me: 0. I’m still recovering from a terrible cold that took me out after a whirlwind trip to New York for Fashion Week. It was one of those last-minute, ‘why not?’ jaunts that turned into one of the most memorable NYC experiences I’ve ever had. It’s funny how those spontaneous adventures often become the ones we treasure most, isn’t it?

Now let’s chat about packing/planning outfits for this trip. I won’t lie, I was a bit stressed trying to figure out what to bring. The weather was doing that tricky in-between thing, my schedule varied from daytime activities to evening events, and let’s be real — I’m a notorious over-packer. I knew I had my work cut out for me.

The first order of business was a deep dive into IG for some outfit inspiration. I was on the hunt for winning outfit recipes with versatile pieces I could easily restyle throughout the trip. As I scrolled, it dawned on me that I had a few special pieces in my own wardrobe that had been patiently waiting for their moment in the spotlight. Suddenly, planning my looks went from daunting to downright exciting.

Actually proud of myself for styling outfits in advance and taking pics instead of just ‘winging it’. I wore 4 out of 5 looks with a few tweaks and slight adjustments to the components.

It was only a 4-day trip, so I’m not sure why I was planning for 16 different outfit options lol. At least now I have a list of ideas for next time.
