This was fascinating to read because I admire both of your personal style(s) so much and you're both stylists. I really appreciate the honesty that not every suggestion is going to hit for reasons that have nothing to do with the styling itself. This is a perfect guide for how to approach being styled and things to think about as you're pulling your details together.
This is your sign to do it, Katelyn! Fall is such a great season to try a stylist because the options in your wardrobe for colder weather are endless! x
Love this experiment! ABSOLUTE PROOF that a fresh POV can completely transform how you see your wardrobe. Loved the honesty in this one as well. BRAVO, LADIES!!
This was a great read, ladies! How do you tackle a task where the customer would like to add a couple of items to their closet and trusts your taste and your understanding of their style?
Great Q! I start with reviewing what they already have in their closet to make sure I don’t recommend pieces they already have or something similar — unless they specifically say “I need a replacement for XYZ”. I always include items I recommend in outfit collages so they can have a better idea of how a new piece might work with their current rotation. I do my best to recommend brands I personally trust and love if they happen to have pieces that match their style. I also pay attention to whether or not the client wants to be pushed out of their comfort zone. If they do, that gives me more flexibility in recommending items that are a bit more adventurous. Price point is also a consideration. I try to stick to their preferred budget as much as possible.
I loved this! I’ve been thinking about doing a lookbook and this is inspiring me (and reminding me to wait until I can really lay out what I would like help with!)
I've also just got to say: I fully see and recognize the Between Two Ferns reference you made here, and I love you both for it.
Angela’s idea, haha!
